In addition to field and administrative offices, DHW also operates five visitation and counseling offices, four state institutions, the state lab and the emergency communications center. Locations and Authorized PositionsĭHW operates in 52 locations, of which 19 are publicly accessible throughout the state. The DHW director serves as the secretary. The board consists of seven voting members appointed by the governor as well as the chairmen of House and Senate Health and Welfare legislative committees.
